Gammill Midwest, located in Warrensburg, Missouri, is owned by Cindy and Larry Culbertson. Cindy has been quilting professionally since December 2008. She said when researching longarm machines, it became apparent that Gammills were built to last and the best on the market. Husband, Larry, coming from a mechanical background, agreed completely.
“He thoroughly checked to see how it was made and understood the quality of the product. Gammill quickly became the only machine for us.”
Cindy said they are looking forward to meeting and assisting customers throughout their service area.
“Our goal is to provide quality customer service to every Gammill owner in our territory,” she said. “We look forward to providing training and education so customers can use their machines to their fullest capabilities.”
Cindy said she began quilting as a young teenager. Although no one in her family quilted, a widowed neighbor was always hand quilting.
“I always begged her to let me help her hand quilt whatever she was working on in the frame. She gave me a box of scraps and told me to make my own, so I did.”
Cindy said she is passionate about quilting and the stories the creations tell.
“I love the vintage quilts and always wonder what the women’s lives were like at the time they were working on them. I love the stories of every quilter, the good times, the hard times and when life is happening in between.”
She said it has been an honor to help quilters tell their stories over the years and to see the joy the quilts bring to her customers.
